The crossing of the Middle Ages in the modern times must have released a big uncertainty with the population at that time and led in a sombre, with rational thinking not explicable epoch: The time of the witch's pursuit. From 1430 there were in Switzerland the first executions of women as witches which were burned like heretic on the pyre. According to the decree the so-called witch's bull in 1484 by pope Innozenz and the appearance of the "witch's hammer" in 1487 the first bigger witch's pursuit took place in the Southwest of Germany which died down, nevertheless, in the first half of the 16th century quickly again.
